I guess Minorities of India should learn the new definition of Secularism, which is – a concept which rejects all forms of religious faith and worship in its political and social system, but whose judicial system makes landmark judgements based on religious myths and legends !

There are three areas which I think we need to underline.

A. Technical problem: The question of applied principles

I ask a very fundamental question: How could a modern secular judiciary- technically an institutionalized ‘interpreter’ of the Constitution- determine the legal disputes related to religious places of worship on the grounds of ‘faith-based’ evidences?

British Indian Muslims have expressed shock and dismay at yesterday’s court judgement in the Babri Mosque case. 

“In this so-called judgement criminals have been rewarded for the crime of forcefully and illegally occupying on the night of 22 December 1949 and finally demolishing on 6 December 1992 the 16th century Babri Mosque and provoking anti-Muslim riots in which at least 3000 people were killed.” Chairman of Council of Indian Muslims (UK)—CIM, Mr Munaf Zeena,  said in a statement issued today. 

British Indian Muslims have urged British Government to declare the 68 people persona non grata found guilty by the Justice Liberhan Commission for the demolition of 16th centaury Babri Mosque on 6 December 1992. 

British Indian Muslims have urged the Indian government to hand over the Babri Mosque site to Muslims and let them rebuild the mosque there.

Marking the 17th anniversary of the demolition of Babri Mosque on 6 December 1992 in Ayodhya, the Chairman of Council of Indian Muslims—UK (CIM) Mr Mohammad Munaf Zeena said, “The demolition of Babri Mosque and Gujarat massacre are two of the most brazen crimes committed against Indian Muslims and the tragedy is that the perpetrators of these crimes are still roaming free.

On 6^th December 1992 Hindu zealots, led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L. K. Advani, demolished the 16^th century Babri Mosque in Ayodhya claiming that it was the birthplace of their god Rama and wanted to build a temple in its place.
