Council of Indian Muslims—UK (CIM) has expressed deep sense of loss and sorrow at the tragic death in a train accident of the US based Indian Muslim scholar Dr Omar Khalidi.
Dr Khalidi’s death has been described as a loss not only of Indian Muslim community but everyone who believed in justice, fairness and impartial study of sociological and political issues related to Muslim community in India.
New Delhi, Nov 18 (IANS) In what could cast doubts over the functioning of Delhi Polices' elite anti-terrorism wing - Special Cell, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has demanded action against its celebrated officer Ravinder Tyagi for framing two police informers on terror charges.
The probe agency has made the demand in its report filed in a sessions court.
Tyagi incidentally was also part of the operation in the Jamia Nagar shootout in September in which two alleged terrorists and Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma were killed.

Mumbai, October 22 : The Maharashtra police are said to have cracked the September 29 bomb blasts in Malegaon and Modasa town in neighbouring Gujarat saying these were allegedly carried out by the Hindu Jagran Manch, an Indore-based Hindu extremist group known to have links to the BJP’s student wing, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). The key suspects are being questioned, top Maharashtra Police sources have told The Indian Express.

New Delhi: The residents of Jamia Nagar today foiled a kidnapping/encounter attempt by some policemen in plainclothes in Shaheen Bagh area under the Jamia Nagar Police Station in Delhi.
Allahabad, Sept 29 (ANI): Police seized 14 sacks of ammonium nitrate, a chemical used in the recent spate of bomb blasts in the country, along with 1200 feet of fuse wire after a raid at a store in Allahabad on Sunday.
The chemical was used in the recent serial blasts in New Delhi that killed 23 people almost a fortnight ago and Mehrauli blast that killed three and injured 22.

But after his identification as "Nankaoo Das" in the guise of a sadhu, [Hindu priest] an attempt started at once by the police and media to hush up the matter. As a result, when the court opened on 20 August, after three days' leave, much tension prevailed as Hindu and Muslim pleaders appeared divided, while everyone was discussing the thrashing of Muslim pleaders.
