British Indian Muslims Congratulate Maharashtra Police

Council of Indian Muslims—UK (CIM) has welcomed the news of the arrest of three Hindu terrorists involved in two bomb blasts in Malegaon in the south western Indian state of Maharashtra last September in which five persons were killed.

“We have always maintained that terrorism is a crime against humanity and there is nothing Islamic or Hindu about it and that the law enforcement agencies and investigating authorities must keep an open mind when probing such crimes. And the arrest of the three criminals belonging to Hindu extremist organisation has proved our point.” CIM’s Chairman Mr Munaf Zeena said in a statement issued today.

“This is for the first time when Maharashtra police has shown some impartiality in their investigation and the results are before everyone to see and applaud.” Zeena said. “These results must be an eye opener for everyone, specially the law enforcement agencies, who look at crimes in terms of Hindu and Muslim. Luckily though the enemies of peace have so far failed in spreading the sectarian hatred in India, but by their partisan attitude law-enforcement agencies have been wittingly or unwittingly helping them in shattering the social fabric of Indian society. We hope Maharashtra police will stick to their non-partisan policy that they have displayed by arresting the trio and their counter part in the centre and other provinces will learn a lesson from them.”
