Following wide press coverage of CIM Chairman Munaf Zeena’s letter to Home Secretary Jacqui Smith and our press release on this issue, Ms Kate Dobbin of Dow Jones & Company has phoned Mr Zeena and informed him that the India Summit has been postponed. She has also sent an email that we are producing below.
Asked if Dow Jones still intended to invite a person like Modi when the summit is reorganised, Ms Dobbin refused to comment. She, however, confirmed that the summit will not be convened until next year.
However, there are reports that despite the rescheduling of the summit, Modi still plans to visit London, probably in May to participate in fund raising programmes—perhaps to buy more sophisticated weapons for his foot soldiers and better training for them to carry out crimes on defenceless ordinary citizens belonging to minority faiths in Gujarat.
Let it be clear that Gujarat massacre was not Hindus V/S Muslims strife. This was a genocide of innocent Muslims organised by fascists belonging to the BJP and its cohorts known as the Sangh Parivar. Hindus and Muslims have lived together in India for centuries, share common culture and common social values. They participate in each others’ festivities and moments of sorrow. And this is what the criminals of Hindutwaites, a coterie of high caste fascists, are bent upon destroying.
Not only in India, they are busy in creating inter-religious friction in Britain too. Some of them have been circulating CIM’s letter to Jacqui Smith to prove what they call anti-Hindu propaganda of “Muslim extremists.”
We appeal to all those who believe in pluralism and coexistence to stand against these fascists and write to the Home Secretary to declare Modi persona non grata, stop him from entering into Britain and demoralise the fascists in India and Britain.
Dow Jones & Company’s letter
Dear Mr. Mohammad Munaf Zeena
As we discussed earlier, Dow Jones took the decision early last week to cancel its forthcoming India Summit, to be staged by Financial News Events in London on May 19-20, due to business reasons.
All those involved in the conference have been informed, and a note was posted on the conference website on March 10 to this effect. (www.efinancialnewsevents.com/events)
Best regards
Kate Dobbin
