Advocate Shahid Azmi’s brutal and cowardly murder is an attack on India’s democratic system and its judiciary and the Pune blast may also be the handy work of the same forces that were involved in Mr Azmi’s assassination, a condolence meeting organised by Council of Indian Muslims—UK (CIM) was told last night.

British Indian Muslims have urged British Government to declare the 68 people persona non grata found guilty by the Justice Liberhan Commission for the demolition of 16th centaury Babri Mosque on 6 December 1992. 

British Indian Muslims have urged Organisation of Islamic Countries to declare the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi, persona non grata and instruct its member countries to ask their ambassadors in Delhi neither to accept any invitation by him nor to extend one to him.

The Council of Indian Muslims (UK) wishes to complement this august gathering of Heads of states of the Organisation of Islamic Conference and presents the following facts urging the Excellencies to declare the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi persona non grata, who, according to Indian newspapers, has been invited for a visit by one of OIC member country, Indonesia. 

British Indian Muslims have deplored fDi magazine’s insistence on honouring Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Council of Indian Muslims— CIM (UK) has accused fdi magazine, a Financial Times group publication, of  being insensitive to the victims of anti-Muslim riots in the western Indian state of Gujarat in 2002 and encouraging Hindu extremism in India.

The fdi magazine has chosen the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi as its Asian Personality of the Year (2009).

British Indian Muslims have welcomed the defeat of BJP led fascism in India. “We salute the wisdom and political maturity of Indian voters who, we hope and pray, have said goodbye forever to the philosophy of supremacy, hatred and sectarianism of the BJP.” Chairman of Council of Indian Muslims—UK (CIM) Mr Mohammad Munaf Zeena has said in a statement issued today.

Council of Indian Muslims—UK (CIM) has strongly condemned the imposition of the so called Jazya on Sikh community and demolition of their houses in Pakistan's Aurakzai tribal region as “un-Islamic and shameful”.

A press statement issued by the CIM quotes its religious affairs advisor and London based renowned religious scholar Maulana Atiqur-Rehman Sambhali as saying, “Such an action is highly deplorable, unacceptable and un-Islamic. “

British Indian Muslims have urged the British Government to declare the Chief Minister of Gujarat Mr Narendra Modi persona non grata and refuse him visa to enter into Britain.

Modi, who had allowed and supported the ethnic cleansing of Muslims in the state as its Chief Minister in 2002, has reportedly accepted an invitation to address “India Summit 2009” being organised by Dow Jones Financial News in London in May 2009.

British Indian Muslims have urged the Indian government to hand over the Babri Mosque site to Muslims and let them rebuild the mosque there.

Marking the 17th anniversary of the demolition of Babri Mosque on 6 December 1992 in Ayodhya, the Chairman of Council of Indian Muslims—UK (CIM) Mr Mohammad Munaf Zeena said, “The demolition of Babri Mosque and Gujarat massacre are two of the most brazen crimes committed against Indian Muslims and the tragedy is that the perpetrators of these crimes are still roaming free.
